Arborist
DCG/Watershed, a regional leader in science-based planning and design for environmental restoration, is seeking qualified candidates within the field of arboriculture. A minimum of 5 years of experience required, with an ISA, and/or ASCA certification. Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) is also preferred. Applicants with additional experience in development review, environmental planning, ecology, GIS, urban forestry, and/or landscape architecture, a plus. Desired qualifications include a strong knowledge of tree and shrub identification, tree preservation, tree root patterns and morphology, and common regulatory tree requirements in the region.
The successful candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team of accomplished scientists, planners, engineers, arborists, landscape architects, and engineers in a growing employee-owned company based in Seattle, Washington with several offices conveniently located throughout the Puget Sound area, including:
Seattle
Kirkland
Federal,
Whidbey Island
Mt Vernon
Duties:
Perform tree inventories, tree assessments and report writing for public and private clients
Review and comprehend civil, architectural, and landscape architectural plans, details, and specifications for conflicts with trees
Prepare tree preservation plans and details
Write tree preservation specifications
Monitor and document tree impacts and protection during construction administration
Required Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience
ISA, and/or ASCA certification
Experience understanding clients’ needs and tailoring project scopes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (testing may be required)
Valid driver’s license and good driving record
Demonstrated ability to use standard computer programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Salary and Benefits:
Salary depends on experience and qualifications. Benefits include medical/dental insurance, continuing education, performance bonuses, retirement program with future matched payments and opportunities for ownership.
The hourly payrate is $25 - $32 and depends on experience and qualifications. Benefits include medical/dental insurance, continuing education, performance bonuses, retirement program with future matched payments and opportunities for ownership.
