Fisheries Biologist
DCG/Watershed is seeking experienced candidates within the field of fisheries biology. Successful candidates will work with a multidisciplinary team of accomplished scientists, planners, engineers, arborists, landscape architects, and engineers in a growing 40-year-old employee-owned company based in Seattle, Washington with several offices conveniently located throughout the Puget Sound area.

Duties and Expectations
Stream and fish use assessments
Endangered Species Act compliance and other technical work to support local, state and federal permitting.
Management and design of fisheries restoration projects for public non-profit and private clients. Includes consulting on gravel specifications, LWD placement, channel reconstruction.
Some travel in Eastern and Western Washington.Lead and manage fish removal efforts on in-water work projects.
Project management for multidisciplinary environmental projects
Coordination with project applicants, engineers, architects and agency staff
Desired Experience
Knowledge of Pacific Northwest ecology and fisheries issues
Bachelor's degree in fisheries biology with least five years of experience required. Masters degree preferred.
Demonstrated ability to design scientific study and perform data synthesis and scientific report writing
Excellent field skills requiring data collection of fish population parameters and their habitats in streams and lakes.
Experience with stream restoration project design and construction management and ability to outline project scope and budget.
Endangered Species Act knowledge including experience writing BE/BAs. WSDOT Senior BA author preferred.
Excellent oral and written communications
The ability to meet and work with diverse clients and bring in new work.
Salary and Benefits:
Pay range is $31.25 – $45.67 per hour, depending on experience. Benefits include medical/dental insurance, generous PTO program, continuing education, performance bonuses, retirement program with future matched payments and opportunities for ownership.
