Laura jones
environmental planner
Laura is an environmental planner and a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) with over six years of planning experience. Her background in landscape architecture and education in restoration ecology give her a unique perspective on planning practices which results in a holistic approach to environmental planning. Her work as a CFM has given her hands-on experience with federal and state permitting processes and applying critical areas ordinance. She has an extensive understanding of reviewing permit applications, amending code, policy development, and project implementation. Prior to joining DCG/Watershed, Laura worked for government agencies in Idaho as an Urban Planner where she drafted reports, presented at public hearings, and assisted the public with land use development questions and applications.
Outside of DCG/Watershed
When not in the office Laura enjoys working in her veggie and flower gardens, camping, backpacking, rafting, and skiing and/or snowboarding (depending on the day)! She and her husband have two daughters and a goldendoodle who keep them busy year-round.
