Marketing Specialist
The Watershed Company, a regional leader in science-based planning and design, is seeking experienced Marketing Specialist. Successful candidates will work with a multidisciplinary team of accomplished scientists, planners, engineers, arborists, and landscape architects in a growing 40-year-old employee-owned company based in Kirkland, Washington. In addition to our Kirkland office, we have several offices conveniently located throughout the Puget Sound area, including:
Seattle
Mount Vernon
Whidbey Island
Federal Way
Duties and Expectations:
3 years minimum of experience, preferably in a service-based (not product-based) work environment. Must have strong skills in writing and graphic design. The Watershed Company provides services to a diverse assemblage of public and private clients. Contracts for this work range from small projects mainly overseen by project managers, to large, complex and multi-year arrangements with municipal, county and state agencies.
The following duties apply:
Facilitate marketing plan and budget for staff-owned consulting firm, working with closely with the Marketing Manager
Coordinate and produce outstanding proposals and presentations
Assist with direction of firm’s RFP/RFQ process, including proposal planning, pre-positioning, “go-no-go” decisions and teaming efforts.
Manage or coordinate online presence, including website, blog and social media
Design and coordinate marketing collateral, including posters/ displays, cutsheets and advertising.
Compose, edit, create, and maintain resume and project descriptions in CRM database
Write, proofread, and edit creative and technical content across different mediums
The following minimum qualities apply:
3 years minimum experience in professional services marketing, including proposal preparation
Experience with architecture, engineering, landscape architecture or environmental services required
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, graphic design, English or similar
Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications and proven experience using InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite/Creative Cloud
Artful graphic design
Website management experience using a content management system
Position is expected to be 32 hours per week
Preferred Skills (not required)
Photography
Good skills in additional Creative Suite / Creative Cloud programs (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
Desired Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, or similar
2 years or more experience in a marketing and graphic design role
Salary and Benefits:
Salary range is $26 - $36 per hour and depends on experience and qualifications. Benefits include medical/dental insurance, continuing education, performance bonuses, retirement program with future matched payments, and opportunities for ownership.
